Reconstructive Surgery:
An Introduction
Reconstructive surgery is performed to correct abnormalities of facial or body structures caused by
congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, injuries, previous or concurrent surgeries, infection,
tumors or other disease.
The purpose of reconstructive surgery is generally to improve function,
but it may also be used to restore a normal appearance.
There are a variety of options available to patients.
A list of procedures, along with brief descriptions may be found under the
"Procedures' Index."
Keep in mind that we at the Mid Hudson Plastic Surgery Center have an excellent library of brochures and pamphlets. We will be pleased to send
you one or more, if your will contact us (845-338-0789). We are also available to arrange a
consultation for you with Dr. Hagerty.
