Tissue Expansion
Tissue expansion allows the body to produce extra skin that will be used reconstructively in other
operations. Tissue expansion offers many advantages. The skin that is "produced" by the procedure
provides an almost match in color; texture and hair-bearing qualities. It provides a continuous
connection to the donor area's blood and nerve supply. Generally is produces less scarring than
other methods. It remains to be one of the best ways to reconstruct damaged tissue.
This is an artist's rendering and does not represent actual patient results.
Individual results may vary.
